Construction began April 19, 2016 on the new 1,380 sq. ft. pavilion in Taylor Park. It is expected to last through the end of summer. No reservations are being accepted for 2016.
Taylor Park a hidden hilltop gem, is a 6-acre County-owned park located in the City of Sheboygan between the Sheboygan County Historical Museum and Veteran’s Memorial, is easily accessible from I-43. Access is gained via the driveway serving the Historical Society Museum on Erie Avenue.
The new shelter rentable in 2017, will be ADA accessible, fully equipped with a sink, refrigerator, outlets and six picnic tables for family gatherings. It will have a rollup garage door on three sides, designed to be open air or provides wind or rain blockage. Restrooms will be open daily. It will be located further away from the radio tower in a more level area, closer to the parking lot to improve handicap accessibility and visibility of the playground.
Other Park features include a gazebo, playground area and equipment, grills and picnic tables. It offers significant nature and scenic viewing, as well as playground opportunities and access to the multi-seasonal, multi-use trail, the Urban Recreation Trail (U.R.T.).
