Sheboygan County has programs to provide seniors with information and assistance in any area of concern to them. It includes dining site managers who visit seniors in their home and assist with arranging for needed services and follow-along. Some of these services include:

Senior Dining Programs:

The Sheboygan County Senior Dining has eight (8) Senior Dining sites throughout the county.  They are warm, welcoming places for adults age 60 and over to socialize and enjoy tasty, nutritious noon meals with other individuals of similar ages and interests. Each site has a variety of daily programs and activities. There is a friendly manager on site who is knowledgeable about senior services and can offer important information, services or referrals.

To be eligible for the senior dining program, a person must be:

  • Age 60 or older

  • Any spouse who attends the dining site with their spouse who is age 60 or older

  • A disabled individual who resides at home with an eligible older individual participating in the program

The suggested donation is $4.00 for the meal; however, no one will be turned away because he/she cannot make the suggested contribution. Menus and program activities are published in local newspapers, Moxie and the Seniors in Touch Newsletter. Meal reservations are required in advance, by noon the prior weekday.  For general information call 920-467-4100.  To reserve a meal call the meal site directly. Download Brochure

Home Delivered Meal Program:

Studies have shown that eating healthy can increase mental acuity, resistance to illness and disease, energy levels, immune system strength, recuperation speed and the ability to manage chronic health problems.

Receiving home-delivered meal ensures that seniors have access to adequate nutrition even when family support, mobility and resources are lacking.  The meals are:

  • Delivered between 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
  • Specialized diet are available when recommended by a physician
  • Short or long term service available
  • Each meal is equal to 1/3 of Recommended Dietary Requirements (RDA)

Seniors, age 60 and older, who are home-bound and at nutritional risk are eligible to participate in the program on a contribution-only basis.  The suggested contribution is $4.00 per meal, but no one is denied a meal if he or she is unable to contribute.  Contributions help the program help to provide more meals for other homebound seniors.
