Unit Mission Statement

Our mission is to establish and maintain safety and permanency for children who have been identified as maltreated or at risk of maltreatment.

Unit Services

Case Management Services

Case Management Services are provided to children and families in which there are identified safety concerns. Ongoing case managers provide or arrange for services which may include ongoing case management, counseling, advocacy, education, parenting, social life skills, and managed control of safety factors.

Volunteer Services

Volunteer Services works with community members to educate individuals about the Department of Health & Human Services and the consumers we work with. Other areas of services include the coordination of donations and/or events for the Department to participate in.  Donations are received for various holidays, start of school, and other occasions (Easter, Thanksgiving).  The Volunteer Coordinator is available to participate in speaking engagements for educational purposes in the community.

Foster Care Services

The Foster Care staff recruit, license, and train foster parents. The Foster Care staff offer support and do training in specialized areas, as well as coordinating training opportunities outside of the agency. Relative care providers are also served in various capacities by the Foster Care staff.

Eligibility Requirement

All persons referred to Ongoing Services must have a service relationship to Health & Human Services Programming voluntarily or legally as ordered by Juvenile Court.

Authority

Services provided within this work unit are governed by the Children's Code, Chapter 48, and state and county mandates.
