Please NOTE: A Sheboygan County Annual Launch Permit Application is required for all six inland County boat landings. The permit can be filled out online (linked above) and mailed in, or in-person at the brown boxes by the boat launch available at any of the 6 waterbodies. This permit is only valid on the below waterbodies:
Crystal Lake- W6490 Birch Tree Road
Crystal Lake is perhaps the most heavily used lake for fishing and boating. Crystal Lake incorporates an extensively developed shoreline which fosters productive fishing in early morning and late evening when northern, crappie, perch, walleye, bass, and bluegills are caught. The property owners association helps maintain the clearness of water through proper management of this valued water resource. Port-a-potties are available year-round. Motor boating is not permitted on Sundays.
Elkhart Lake- N8091 County Road P
Elkhart Lake is the largest natural lake in the County and fourth deepest in the State. Elkhart's clear water and rock, gravel, and sand shoreline make it ideal for almost any recreational use, particularly swimming and boating. The Lake has an excellent public boat landing and parking facility. Fishing for smallmouth bass and rock bass is very good, with some trophy-size walleye caught each year. Privies are available year-round. Motor boating is not permitted on Sundays.
Little Elkhart Lake- N7355 Schwaller Drive
Little Elkhart Lake provides excellent fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, and musky. Little Elkhart has a public landing with small picnic area. A lake management district exists to ensure a bright future for this scenic little lake. Privies are available year-round. Motor boating is not permitted on Sundays.
Gerber Lake- W5175 Gerber Lake Road
Gerber Lakes consists of two contiguous basins connected by a navigable channel. Both lakes provide summer and winter fishing of bass, bluegills, crappie, and perch. Outboard motors are not allowed on the Lakes. Sheboygan County purchased the 108 acre parcel to the west and north of the lakes in 1996 and an additional 45 acres to the south in 2001. These additional lands are now managed as the Gerber Lakes Public Fish & Wildlife Area. Port-a-potties are available at the access area in the warmer months. A year-round privy is available at the Gerber Lake field area just west and up the hill of the access area.
Jetzer's Lake- W3401 County Road A North
Jetzer's Lake is a family fishing lake that does not permit motor boats. The lake incorporates a pier for fishing from the shore, which adds to the uniqueness of this lake. Though the bluegills and black crappies tend to be on the small side, occasionally good size fish are caught. Bass and northern pike provide more experienced fishermen with a challenge. Privies are available year-round.
Sheboygan Marsh - W7039 County Road SR
Sheboygan County's most popular park is a recreational haven for a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts…and those who like the indoors. This 30 acre developed year round park boasts the "Marsh Lodge" (full service restaurant and tavern), and "Broughton Lodge", a multi-purpose facility. The 50 fully developed campsites include showers, playground, picnic areas, launch ramp, and fishing piers. County snowmobile trails traverse the Marsh and connect with the Countywide 247.5 mile trail system. The Sheboygan Marsh Wildlife Area includes over 13,000 acres and attracts hunters, fishers, and wildlife/natural observers. The Park and Wildlife Area is a destination for all seasons.
