A Multijurisdictional Enforcement Group (MEG) is a collaborative task force that combines resources and personnel from various law enforcement agencies across different jurisdictions. These groups are typically formed to tackle specific issues such as drug trafficking, organized crime, or human trafficking, which often span multiple areas or states.
The MEG unit is comprised of officers from several agencies throughout Sheboygan County, including investigators from the Sheboygan Police Department, Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office, Sheboygan Falls Police Department, and Plymouth Police Department.
The MEG unit bases it's work on many key features, such as collaboration, efficiency, and focus. The benefits of working together with several different agencies allows officers to work together to share intelligence, resources, and personnel. This allows for the unit to be more efficient since pooling resources cause investigators to work more effectively and respond more quickly to incidents that cross jurisdictional boundaries. Also, investigators can focus on serious crimes that require more coordinated efforts, such as drug interdiction.
The Sheboygan County MEG Unit provides dedicated investigators which leads to enhanced operational capabilities, improved information sharing amongst agencies, and crime can be addressed more comprehensively across the county in an efficient and timely manner.
