2013 PASSPORT DAY IN THE USA

On Saturday, March 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., U.S. citizens may apply for, or receive assistance on how to renew, a passport book or passport card at the Sheboygan County Clerk's office located at 508 New York Avenue, in the City of Sheboygan.

This year the Bureau of Consular Affairs is focusing on family travel.

Convenient Saturday hours, on March 9th, ensure most parents will not have to miss work to apply for their child's U.S. passport.  Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

Please keep in mind that passports for children under the age of 16 expire every five years, and to apply for a passport for a child under the age of 16 both parents need to appear in person.

Please go to Sheboygan County's website passport page by clicking on this link Passports, or call the County Clerk's office at 920-459-3003 for information regarding what you need to bring, along with photos, fees and timing.

If you are unable to visit the County Clerk's office on March 9th, please stop in any day Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to apply for a passport.

@TravelGov will host a live Twitter Q & A on Monday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m., EST.  Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services, Brenda S. Sprague, will answer questions about passports for one hour.  Tweet @TravelGov#AskState, and she will answer your passport questions.  In addition, everyone is invited to join the conversation throughout the week by using the hashtag #PPTDay.  You can also visit Facebook.com/TravelGov beginning March 4th for daily passport tips and referrals to other online resources.

Please help get the word out to your families and friends!

Let's all help make Passport Day in the USA a great success by spreading the word!

Thank you,

Jon Dolson, County Clerk
